Mon 6th October 2008 Radio Interview with PALM 105 fm. Torquay. This was the first radio interview that ‘Marnie & Me’ , Lady Katie & myself have done so far as a duo thang‘. It was such good fun. The D.j’s were really friendly. They seemed quite shocked when they heard us play our first song...I don’t know why they were so surprised, maybe they thought we’d be rubbish or something. How dare they :) ha,ha! I don’t know, anyways...We got to play our 3 new originals and we all enjoyed it. (I sure hope the listeners did too.) They particularly loved ‘‘The Woodlouse Song’’. It’s a very funny song full of pure silliness. It’s well worth you checking it out on YouTube. Type in the search= marnieandme, the woodlouse song! and prepare yourself to laugh your socks off.
Ok, back to the radio interview, we also kind of got thrown in at the deep end. The guys said that we had 4 minutes to write a chorus or verse of a song to do with a random song title that a listener texts in, and then we have to play it live on air. And you can’t imagine what they chose? It was a nightmare. The song title was ‘‘Put a chicken in the oven’’...It was really funny but I couldn’t believe it and my mind just seemed to empty itself of lyrics. Thank goodness for Katie’s quick thinking and lyrical content else I’d a been like a chicken in the oven...stuffed...he,he! :) so we managed to come up with a verse and played it. I wasn’t sure if we should be proud or maybe find a big hole to bury selves in. Probably the latter but hey we all had a laugh and that’s what it’s all about.
