Sat 25th Aug 2007 We played in the garden at The Exeter Inn, Newton Poppleford. It was a bank holiday and, what a scorcher of a day. I thought the P.a. was going to melt along with us. Corr’ it so was hot. They were a crazy buzzing crowd probably with sun stroke and we went down really well. I had fun but was so glad to finish and get packed down as it was just tooooo hot for the likes of that! But the worst thing was that they had my favourite beer, Yellow Hammer, Yellow Hammer, Yellow Hammer and I couldn’t even sample it because I was the designated driver...Oh well never mind, such is life sometimes!!

Sun 19 Aug 2007 Charity gig for the V.W. van Festival on Paignton Seafront. We played half an hour set to a moving crowd. It was much fun with clowns and so much going on around us. The van and car show was awesome. I want one, I thought, as I tried to hide my old rusted Renault van behind the stage....:)

Sat 18th Aug 2007 we are back at The Jolly Porter, Exeter. I like this venue but it is hard work because there are 3 levels to the pub and everyone is scattered all over and although people are listening on the next level from where we are set up, I can’t really see them, so it’s hard to make a connection with them, but hey I got reports that they enjoyed it so it’s a good job done!!!

Fri 17 Aug 2007 We were called back to play at the V.W. van Festival at Sheldon. Again this year it was a fab night with bonfire and beer and a great crowd of people. We were lucky that we just finished playing our last encore song and it started raining. The timing couldn't have been better really...Well almost. We all rushed around to get the music electrical equipment packed away before we were electrocuted. We're still here so all was well. Praise the lord!! :)

Thu 16 Aug 2007 For the 2nd year we were asked to play at The Paignton Regatta. This time it wasn't 'Marnie' the Acoustic duo, no, It was our first ever Electric Marnie gig. With Paul on Electric guitar, Dave on Drums and Nigel on Bass. It was so amazingly great to have that large backing sound behind me which gave me the confidence to really go for it vocally and sing more challenging songs. Sadly this was our one and only live performance, (Apart from playing at my bonfire party the week before)....Again, sadly the timing and mix seemed to be all wrong. But do watch this space because in the future there will be a Marnie's mob electric band formed that will blow your socks off...Everything has to be at the right time and annoyingly I just need to learn patience.....Argh!! :)

Sat 11th Aug 2007 I had a big bonfire party at the Ranch. We set up the P.a. on my decking and played our first public airing with the ‘Electric Marnie’ band. I’ve been so excited about this project. We’ve been rehearsing since April with me, myself and I on Vocals, Paul on elec’ Guitar, Dave on Drums & Nigel on Bass. We have our first gig at Paignton Regatta next Saturday with Radar so this was a good trial run. It was wicked, very loud, I couldn’t hear myself properly (which makes a change ha ha :) ) but all went well. After that I could relax and enjoy the rest of the night with friends and a wicked bonfire...I love bonfires, they are brill!!! :)

Sat 4th Aug 2007 The Royal Oak, in Heavitree, Exeter It was an enjoyable gig, It has a nice atmosphere. I was quite nervous throughout though because it’s a pub that is totally against swearing. I sing a couple of songs with the odd swear word in and I was thinking all the way through, change it, don’t swear, don’t swear...I was lucky that nothing slipped out. Paul decided to ping a string in the middle of Fleetwood Mac's Dreams so we had to stop and go to the van and get another guitar...That was a bit of a nightmare but we saw the funny side of it and carried on. Well I did, poor Paul was a bit peeved. :) We got the crowd singing along to the sing alongs and all ended up well in the end.

Fri 3rd Aug 2007 at The Havana’s on the Quay, Exeter. I was a bit nervous as it was such a big open venue but we were fine and I enjoyed the gig. We played 3 long sets which is slightly more than normal. The place had a good vibe in a local for the locals kind of pub and we got a crowd up dancing.
